The Global-Local Education and Research Center gave a lecture presentation on examples of regional innovation
The Global-Local Education and Research Center gave a lecture presentation on examples of regional innovation by the minor programs of Local-exchange Subjects and the Creative Education Program about Local Problems at the 2020 Gyeongnam Social Innovation Global Forum.
Associate Professor Maki Shimura of the Global-Local Education and Research Center presented a lecture on examples of regional society innovation through the operation of Yokohama National University's Local-exchange Subjects and the Creative Education Program about Local Problems at this international symposium, held in Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea.
The Forum featured keynotes speeches by former mayors or deputy mayors from Portland (USA), Malmö (Sweden), and Bilboa (Spain), as well as lectures by practitioners and university faculty from countries like South Korea, the United States, and Taiwan. It was an extremely meaningful opportunity to inform people of the initiatives for regions being carried out at YNU under our minor program.
This marks the 16th year since the Local-exchange Subjects started being taught at YNU. Each year, between 18 and 20 regional issue seminar projects are held in each region. The industrious efforts of students and teachers are creating links with people in each region.
We shall continue working to share our interdisciplinary knowledge, technology, and activities with many people as we understand the feelings of those living in each region through this minor program.
